When these premises were destroyed by fire in September 2014, the station spent some months broadcasting from the OB (outside broadcasting) van before moving into the current studios at 10 Bank Place.
Currently we are proud to include the following as part of our volunteer network who help make this radio station a possibility.
In 1995, a group of interested people came together to look at the possibility of setting up a community radio station in Mansfield.
Temporary broadcasting licences were obtained and the station commenced broadcasting for short periods, presenting a variety of quality programs.
On the 15th December 1997 Radio Mansfield began broadcasting as Mansfield Community Radio 3MCR, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, from the old station masters house near the railway station in Mansfield.
In November 2005 the radio station moved to new studios in the Café Connect building centrally located in the main street of Mansfield.

One of the founding members of the station holding the position of President, V President, Treasurer and committee member many times over the years. He came up with our tagline ‘Your voice in the high country’. His country music program High Country was one of the most listened shows both on Radio Mansfield and UGFM.
Working tirelessly behind the scenes producing all our sponsorship mp3’s. Ian’s promptness, talent and creativity has been a real bonus to the station. Our adverts are as good as, if not better than most other community stations, winning an X award a few years back for the best community announcement.
On air for 31 years, 12 at Radio Mansfield presenting two shows each week; Monday Country and Call from Ireland. Marg has been President, V President and committee member many times over the years.
Has been with the station for many years hosting a popular breakfast program and has held many roles on the committee during this time.
Loves music and presents many shows each week including overseeing shows with Emily Reynolds and the girls from Lauriston Grammar School. Kathy has been a member of the committee for many years.
A presenter for 15 years, President, V President, Treasurer and committee member many times over the years. John’s management, design and construction skills have been invaluable to the station. He has overseen many projects for the station including designing and constructing our new studios and renovating our new outside broadcast van.

long time Technical officer and blues presenter with the station, also has had many roles on the committee over the years. The ABC’s Red Simonds once said “this is the best blues show he had ever heard on radio!”
A great asset to the station, bringing his IT skills to the station. His help in the design off the new studios was invaluable. Rob does wonderful, often unseen things behind the scenes to keep us on air.
And his dog(s) love blues and has extensive knowledge of this genre. Greg has been a presenter for many years and on the committee many times.
